The Blue Angels Mission

The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.

While visiting Pensacola Beach, you will be thrilled by occasional flybys as they practice and "smoke the beach" when they come back home from a performance!

Ambassadors of Goodwill

The team is stationed at Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, during the air show season. The squadron spends January through March training at Naval Air Facility El Centro, California.

Around the country, the team serves as ambassadors of goodwill by bringing naval aviation to men, women, and children across America.

The precision flight demonstrations showcase the professionalism, excellence and teamwork found in all Navy and Marine Corps units, as well as provide the thrill and magic of flight to people each year.

Since its inception, the team has flown for more than 450 million spectators worldwide.

Watching "The Blues" Practice

Our hometown heroes, The Blue Angels, based at Naval Air Station Pensacola can be seen practicing over the National Museum of Naval Aviation most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from March to November.

Practices typically begin at 11:30 a.m. and last about 55 minutes. Admission to the practice is free and open to the public.

The viewing area for the Blue Angels practice is located on the N.A.S. Museum Flight Line north of the museum. Signs are posted directing visitors to viewing and parking locations.

Open bleacher seating is available. Concessions and merchandise are also available, with all proceeds benefitting the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and museum programs.

Following some Wednesday practices, members of the Blue Angels meet fans and sign autographs inside the National Naval Aviation Museum. You can view the practice schedule below. The dates marked with a star indicate the days you can get autographs and meet the team.

You don't have to go to the Naval Air station to see the Blues! You can get a great glimpse of them from Ft. Pickens when they practice.

The Blue Angels Show and Practice Schedules are subject to change without notice. The National Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola has a viewing area for visitors to watch the team practice. The team visits the museum to answer questions and sign autographs after most Wednesday practices. All days marked with an * are museum visit days.
